I submit this write up today, not for a specific project, but an entire week dedicated to it.
“Vaishna Vajan toh tene kahiye je peer parayi jaane re”
This devotional hymn, penned by Narsinh Mehta in the 15th Century, became popular during the life time of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and was rendered as a bhajan in his Sabarmati Ashram.
The reason I quoted these lines is because we devote our time to the selfless service of humanity starting on the Mahatma’s Birthday.
It is not only about serving the needy, but also bringing a smile on their faces. The small joys that are discovered.
We, as Lions, have dedicated our lives to these people and have sworn to do so till we live.
The October Service Week holds a special place in our hearts where we go out of our way to bring joy and happiness in the lives of such people.
Service has taught us to keep Religion, Caste and Creed on the backburner
Needless to say, people must serve and to invoke a smile on the faces of needy persons
