Covid-19 which we all know is the pandemic which forced us all to remain home. It has caused not only loss of lives but also financial losses of the best economies too. The lockdown in some countries is relaxed but in many countries we still continue to fight with the deadly virus. District 3231A3 of The International Association of Lions Clubs dealth with situation by using this an opportunity of go digital.
Various Clubs have not only come forward during this period to serve but have also contributed a huge amount too. One such example would be Lion Madhusudan Agarwal, Vice Chairman of Ajanta Pharma who is a member of Lions Club of Millennium who contributed Rs. 2 crore to Prime Minister Cares Fund & 4 crore to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Lions Club of Millennium presided by Lion Nandkishore Agarwal has gone ahead creating a 100 temporary bed medical facility located at Mahalaxmi Race course.
But this virus has made us learn something new too, the way to conduct meetings online. In the signature picture of District Governor Lion Dr. Ajeet Jain clicked a year before he was writing on a notepad and having a computer on his table, hardly anyone expected why he chose to do that. Here comes the vision in action, his term was scheduled to be ended on 30th June 2019 but he was geared up to interact with the members of District 3231A3 even though the Lockdown stopped him from conducting meetings physically since then. The platform used by him was Zoom and he motivated clubs also to complete District Governor Visits via the virtual conference platform. The result was clear, the clubs adopted and began a new way to conduct meetings online.
- 24th May- Annual District Convention,
- 19thĀ June- 4th Cabinet Meeting,
- 21st June- Preliminary PST1stVP Schooling
- 28th June- Preliminary Cabinet meeting&
- 30th June 2020- Annual Award Night for 2019-20
Above are the 5 huge events which any District Governor in power or an incoming District Governor along with their respective team always have eyes wide upon. Not only did these meetings get conducted online with 200+ attendance and with ease but it also resulted in administrative savings.
4thĀ Cabinet Meeting dated 19th June 2020
District Governor Lion Ajeet Jain along with the District Treasurer Team headed by Lion CA Neeraj Golas and his team announced the refund of 22% of the Cabinet dues as the admin funds were saved due to the meetings which were conducted online.
Another big news that 1stĀ time a huge sum amounting to approx. Rs. 10 Lakhs was decided to be moved to District Mercy Mission Fund which has helped the lives of many families since years with a matching donation of Rs. 10,000 from a club and Rs. 10,000 from the corpus collected since inception.
30th June 2020- Annual Award Night for 2019-20
The Advisors, Micro Dream Team, Region Chairpersons, Zone Chairpersons, 100+ Lions Clubs, 5 Lioness Clubs, 15+ Leo clubs were recognised by Lion Dr. Ajeet Jain, District Governor 2019-20. What an emotional evening which had maximum attendees remain available till the meeting was adjourned.
If we sum up all events, the tremendous savings comes to approx. a minimum of Rs. 25 Lakhs or more.
With this we conclude and ask you some questions which you might also agree upon.
- Has it not been proven that Covid-19 came out to a signal from God to correct our mistakes?
- Virtual conferencing was there for a long time, but didnāt the Lockdown forceĀ us to meet virtually?
- Did it notĀ result in saving of Travel time, better productivity and most importantly the funds which can be used more effectively.
- Should we not come forward to come support such a transparent NGO?
Lets Rethink & action our responses accordingly!!!
