Lions plant fruit trees in Tamil Nadu farms to help combat hunger, poverty and global warming.
Lions Club of Sivakasi Industrial Town, Dist 324B4 has planted 2000 fruit trees. 500 mango trees, 500 guava trees, 500 custard apple trees and 500 lime trees. The project by the club was with an expense of Rs. 6,00,000. Lions Club of Sivakasi Industrial Town has made arrangements for the water supply to the land. Tree plantation was conducted by five lion members for one week between 23/1/2020 to 30/10/2020.
The club members spent 84 hours executing the project.
The District Governor Er. P. Justin Paul was very happy with the project and has conveyed his good wishes for the club’s efforts and has insisted many clubs to come forward too. By planting a fruit tree, you help in doing your bit to mitigate the carbon footprint and carry on the fight against hunger, poverty, and climate change. It’s now time we give back to the rural side so we can bring back the balance to our planet.
