A village where women had to walk 3-4 kms to fetch water every day and almost no water after March resulting in migration in search of work.
A 5HP Pump operated by a 7.5 KW Solar Panel was installed to pump the water over a distance of 1.4 kms to two raised tanks – one for water for household use and one to irrigate their fields.
A separate filter was used to supply purified water for drinking – thus reducing the incidence of water diseases.
Water would flow by gravity to 5 tanks constructed at different locations across the village – from where the villagers could draw water for domestic purposes.
